Andreas Kürten

Andreas Kürten is a Senior Lecturer (Senior Scientist) at the Institute for Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, part of the Faculty of Geosciences / Geography at Goethe University Frankfurt. He holds a habilitation in Meteorology (2015) and has been affiliated with the university since 2008. His research focuses on aerosol nucleation mechanisms, trace gas measurements, and instrument development.

He uses chemical ionization mass spectrometry in field experiments (e.g., CLOUD at CERN) and develops instruments for nanoparticle analysis. Key themes include aerosol-cloud-climate interactions and health impacts of atmospheric particles.
