معرفی
Dr. Alexander Theis serves as a Postdoc researcher within the Aerosol and Cloud Physics research group, led by Prof. Stephan Borrmann, at the Institute for Atmospheric Physics (IPA) of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. His position is based at J.-J.-Becherweg 21, Room 05-241, Mainz (D-55128), Germany.
Specializing in ice microphysics, Dr. Theis investigates hydrodynamics of ice particles, trace constituent interactions with ice phases, and heat/mass transfer during diffusional/collisional growth and melting processes. His experimental work utilizes the Mainz vertical wind tunnel to simulate atmospheric cloud conditions, observing single particles in vertical airflow to refine theoretical models and develop parameterizations for cloud-resolving numerical models.
Research conducted at the Mainz vertical wind tunnel facility enables precise study of fundamental microphysical processes, directly contributing to improved weather and climate prediction capabilities through enhanced representation of ice particle dynamics in atmospheric models.
