معرفی
Johannes Schneider is a leading researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz, Germany, specializing in aerosol chemistry and its atmospheric impacts. Since 2001, he has been conducting advanced research in the Particle Chemistry Department, and since 2025, he heads the "Aerosol Field Experiments" working group under Professor Y. Cheng. His work focuses on understanding aerosol-particle chemical composition and their roles in cloud formation, climate processes, and anthropogenic/natural environmental impacts.
As a principal investigator, Schneider utilizes online aerosol mass spectrometry alongside complementary techniques for laboratory and airborne field measurements. His research spans diverse environments from the Arctic to the Amazon, examining pollution transport, biogenic aerosols, and climate feedback mechanisms. He actively contributes to major atmospheric research campaigns like HALO–(AC)³ and ACLOUD using aircraft-based instrumentation.
