Andreas Grunewald is an Associate Professor of Microeconomics at the Department of Economics, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. Previously, he served as a deputy professor at Goethe-University Frankfurt. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Bonn Graduate School of Economics, a Master's in Mathematics from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Bachelor's in Mathematics from the University of Bonn. He was also a visiting scholar at New York University.
His research focuses on behavioral economics, organizational economics, and industrial organization, particularly analyzing how bounded rationality impacts strategic interactions and consumer behavior in competitive markets. Key themes include information manipulation, cognitive biases, labor market dynamics, and policy interventions. Grunewald has published in top journals such as The Review of Economic Studies, Games and Economic Behavior, and Economic Theory.
His work spans theoretical and applied topics, including defaults in decision-making, advertising strategies, political power structures, and social interaction effects on beliefs. He teaches courses like 'Game Theory' at the PhD level and 'Evidence-Based Management' for undergraduates.
