Dr. Andreas Brandt is a researcher at the Department of Philosophy, University of Göttingen, with a focus on the history of philosophy, particularly Descartes, Hume, Kant, and Leonard Nelson. His work spans ethics, religion and philosophy, and metaphysics, with a strong emphasis on critical analysis and systematic philosophy.
- 1995 – Magister in Philosophy, Protestant Theology, and History (University of Münster and Göttingen)
- 2000 – PhD in Philosophy (University of Göttingen, supervised by Prof. Konrad Cramer)
- 1999-2003 – Research Assistant at the Philosophisches Seminar, University of Göttingen
- 2003-2015 – Specialized roles in academic advising within the Department of Philosophy
His research explores Kantian ethics, German Idealism, and the intersection of philosophy with scientific reasoning, emphasizing regressive abstraction and foundational assumptions. Recent work (2024) addresses philosophical rigor in consequentialist reasoning.
Dr. Brandt has contributed to edited volumes and encyclopedic works, including a 2009 entry on Leonard Nelson in Kindlers Literatur Lexikon. His publications frequently examine Descartes' ontology and Kant's transcendental framework.
