Andrea Welty Peachey serves as a Teaching Professor of Music Education at the Adams School of Music and the Arts, bringing 24 years of diverse instructional experience across Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Texas, and Illinois. Her career spans elementary through high school levels in private/public, suburban/rural/urban settings, with expertise in choral, general, adaptive, and technology-integrated music education.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Goshen College (Indiana) and a Master's in Music Education from the Hartt School at the University of Hartford (CT), complemented by active leadership roles in the National Association of Music Educators and American Choral Directors Association across four state chapters.
Professor Peachey's research and pedagogical focus centers on adaptive music methodologies for diverse learners, technology-enhanced music instruction, and specialized ensemble development including jazz and a cappella. Her work emphasizes practical applications in choral direction, music appreciation curricula, and inclusive educational frameworks.
Professionally, she has earned superior ratings for choirs in Texas and Illinois while directing school musicals and ensembles. Beyond academia, she practices Spanish, swims competitively with a masters team, hikes with her husband, and supports their college-aged daughter's studies at Eastern Mennonite University.
