Andrea Welker is the Dean of the School of Engineering and a Professor of Civil Engineering at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ). She holds a B.S.C.E. (1991), M.S.C.E. (1993) from Drexel University, and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (1998). Previously, she served as Associate Dean and Professor at Villanova University from 2016–2022, with prior roles including Professor (2013–2022), Associate Professor (2005–2013), and Assistant Professor (1999–2005). Her research focuses on geotechnical engineering, stormwater management, and green infrastructure, particularly rain garden performance and sustainable water systems. She has received awards such as the 2022 DEI Award from USUCGER and the 2015 Wesley O. Pipes Alumni Award. Her work integrates field experiments, computational modeling, and educational innovation, including initiatives like the Career Compass professional development program. She holds professional licenses as a P.E. and ENV SP.
