Prof. Andrea Wechsler is a Professor of Private Business Law at Pforzheim University, serving in the School of Business. She holds M.A. (Oxford), LL.M. (Columbia), and LL.M. (München) degrees. Her research focuses on European/international business law, with expertise in intellectual property, competition law, data protection, and mediation. She also works as a business mediator and advises on Asian law (especially China). From 2024/25, she will serve as a Member of the European Parliament until 2029.
Her research integrates legal methodology emphasizing economic analysis and legal sociology. Key areas include:
- EU-China legal cooperation on standards
- 3D printing legal challenges
- Consumer protection and sustainable consumption
- Alternative dispute resolution systems
