Andrea Thoma

Dr. Andrea Thoma is a Lecturer in Art and Design at the University of Leeds, serving as Director of International Activities. She holds a PhD (2013) from the University of Leeds, with a thesis titled *Thought Dwellings: Time and Space in Painting, Photography and Video*, and a Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastique (1988). Her research focuses on intermediality, image perception, and the intersection of art and place. She has exhibited widely across Europe, the UK, and the US, including solo and group exhibitions since 2004.

Her creative practice explores the physicality of painting, color theory, and the correlation between technological and bodily image perception. She has taught at institutions including the University of Minnesota, Northern Illinois University, and the Accademia di Brera in Milan, and has held visiting scholar fellowships.
