Andrea Schembari is a Researcher in Contemporary Italian Literature (LICO-01/A) at the Department of Humanities, University of Catania, where he teaches Comparative Literature and Contemporary Italian Literature in the degree program in Linguistic and Intercultural Mediation at the Special Teaching Structure in Ragusa. He earned his PhD in Modern Philology from the University of Catania in 2011 and previously held academic positions at the University of Szczecin, Poland, where he taught Italian language, Italian history, and literature.
His research centers on the works of Leonardo Sciascia, with significant contributions through co-edited volumes such as Leonardo Sciascia e la giovane critica and Il lume del sentimento. Leonardo Sciascia e il Settecento. He also co-edited Pearl Jam and Philosophy, reflecting his interdisciplinary engagement with literature, music, and philosophy. He is a member of the editorial board of Todomodo – Rivista internazionale di studi sciasciani.
