Andrea Johnson serves as Associate Professor of Piano Pedagogy at the University of Northern Iowa's School of Music, coordinating the group piano and piano pedagogy programs. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Oklahoma (2019), a Master of Music from the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor of Music from Portland State University.

Dr. Johnson's research focuses on innovative piano teaching methodologies, performance psychology, and interdisciplinary connections between music and kinesiology. She emphasizes practical pedagogical strategies derived from performance science and cognitive research.

She served as President of the Northeast Iowa Music Teachers Association (2020-2023) and maintains a private piano studio in Cedar Valley.
