Andrea Ghisletta is a Researcher and PhD student in Economics at the University of Basel's Faculty of Economics, affiliated with the Department of Economics and Applied Econometrics. She holds an M.Sc. in Applied Economic Analysis (University of Bern, 2016-2018) and a B.Sc. in Economics and Sustainable Development (University of Bern, 2013-2017). Her research focuses on Labor Economics and Public Economics, with recent work examining vocational training impacts, retirement policy, and the economic effects of lockdowns during the pandemic.
Her notable publications include analyses on TVET programs' education-employment linkages (Social Sciences, 2021), a lockdown index for economic impact assessment (Swiss Journal of Economics and Statistics, 2020), and a meta-analysis of youth labor market outcomes (SSRN, 2022). Her current research explores public policy implications of demographic trends and organized crime's influence on voter behavior.
Andrea is engaged in the university's PhD Program in Applied Econometrics and contributes to the Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics at the Study Center Gerzensee. She is affiliated with research groups in labor markets and public policy within the Faculty of Economics.
