Linn Hjalmarsson is a researcher at the CSS Institute for Empirical Health Economics. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Bern (2021–2024), preceded by a Swiss Program for Beginning Doctoral Students in Economics (Microeconomics, Econometrics) at the Study Center Gerzensee (2020–2021). Her research focuses on Applied Public Economics, with a specialization in empirical Health Economics, examining topics such as physician exits in primary care, patient information effects on drug choices, and health insurance contract behaviors. She has presented her work at venues including the European Health Economics Association (EUHEA) conferences and the Swiss Health Economics Workshop.
Her research interests include healthcare utilization patterns, pharmaceutical market dynamics, and the behavioral responses to health insurance incentives. Her recent studies reveal insights into how patient information influences generic substitution rates and how deductible resets affect drug purchasing decisions. She has served as a teaching assistant for Introductory Econometrics (Bachelor) and Econometrics Workshops at the University of Bern.
