معرفی
Andrea Doseff is a Professor in the Department of Physiology at Michigan State University (MSU) and Director of the Graduate Program in Physiology. Previously, she held a Professorship at Ohio State University, beginning her academic career there as an Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on apoptosis mechanisms, cell fate regulation, and the role of phytochemicals in cancer and immune function. She earned her Ph.D. through a joint program at SUNY Stony Brook and Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, followed by postdoctoral training at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory.
Research Interests
Dr. Doseff’s lab employs genome-wide analyses, proteomics, and cellular/animal models to study how cell death proteins and phytochemicals (e.g., apigenin) influence cancer resistance, immune function, and metabolic pathways. Key areas include functional foods enhancing phytochemical efficacy for cancer prevention, and plant-derived compounds’ anti-inflammatory effects in obesity and chronic diseases.
Advising & Grants
While specific grant details are not detailed here, her work involves collaborative research on plant metabolites and cancer biology. Her lab’s advancements in apigenin’s cancer-inhibiting mechanisms and flavonoid bioengineering reflect interdisciplinary grant-funded efforts.
Labs/Teams
As head of the Doseff Lab, she leads a team focused on translational research bridging plant biology and human health, emphasizing functional foods and molecular mechanisms of disease.
