Professor Andrea Danese is a clinical scientist and academic at King's College London, holding positions in the Department of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry and the Social, Genetic, and Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) Centre. He is also a Clinical Professor at Yale Child Study Center. His research focuses on childhood trauma, trauma-related psychopathology, and resilience mechanisms, with a particular emphasis on longitudinal studies like the Environmental-Risk (E-Risk) Twin Study and the Dunedin Study. He leads the Stress & Development Lab, which explores the biological and social impacts of early adversity.
