Dr. Andrea Charron is Director of Operations for the Canadian Defence and Security Network (CDSN), located at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs (NPSIA), Carleton University. She also serves on the editorial boards of the Canadian Foreign Policy Journal, Canadian Naval Review, and Canadian Army Journal, and is a member of the Department of National Defence’s Defence Advisory Board.
Education:
- PhD in War Studies – Royal Military College of Canada
Research Interests:
Dr. Charron’s scholarship centres on North American defence and security architecture, with particular emphasis on the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), Arctic sovereignty and governance, Canadian foreign and defence policy formulation, and the strategic use of economic sanctions as instruments of statecraft.

Professional Background:
