Andrea Charron is a Professor of International Relations in the Department of Political Studies at the University of Manitoba and Director of the Centre for Defence and Security Studies (CDSS). She holds a PhD from the Royal Military College of Canada and has served in federal roles like the Canadian Privy Council Office. Her research focuses on NORAD, NATO, Arctic security, sanctions, and Canadian foreign/defence policy. She leads the North American and Arctic Security Network (NAADSN) and is a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center. Charron has authored/co-authored four peer-reviewed books and numerous articles, including works on 9/11 legacies, sanctions frameworks, and Arctic sovereignty. She has received teaching and internationalization awards from the University of Manitoba.
