Andrea Bikfalvi

Andrea Bikfalvi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Organisation, Business Management and Product Design at the University of Girona, where she has been a faculty member since 2002. She is affiliated with the Advanced Research Group on Business Dynamics and Impact of New Technologies on Organizations (GRADIENT) and holds an ORCID ID: 0000-0003-4742-820X. She serves as the national coordinator for the European Manufacturing Survey and actively participates in EU-funded research projects, including Horizon 2020 initiatives.

Her research focuses on innovation, entrepreneurship, organizational dynamics, and competency development, particularly in manufacturing and higher education spin-offs. She has collaborated internationally with institutions such as Tampere University of Technology (Finland), Fraunhofer ISI (Germany), Radboud University (Netherlands), and the University of Barcelona. Her work bridges academic research and industrial application through competitive research projects and policy-relevant studies.

Andrea Bikfalvi has published over 50 articles in scientific journals, with 20 indexed in JCR SCI/SSCI, and over 25 book chapters with publishers like Springer, McGraw-Hill, and IGI Global. She has presented more than 100 papers at national and international conferences including EURAM, EUROMA, and RENT. Her publications span fields such as innovation management, strategic management, and technology assessment, with a strong emphasis on empirical and policy-oriented research.

She has directed six defended PhD theses and currently supervises five more, in addition to over 70 bachelor’s and master’s theses. She served as Vice-Director of the Department of Business Administration from 2016 to 2017 and has been Deputy Director of the Family Business Chair at UdG since 2007. She teaches in Catalan, Spanish, and English across various degree and master’s programs.

Andrea Bikfalvi is a member of several master’s program committees and contributes to academic governance. Her current research priorities include leading competitive research projects and expanding her international collaboration network to enhance the quality of her research output. She leads the national implementation of the European Manufacturing Survey, collecting data on production modernization in manufacturing firms across Spain.
