Anderson West is a British-American award-winning writer/director and part-time lecturer in Film Production at Staffordshire University's Digital, Tech, Innovation & Business school. His work explores themes of identity, belonging, and cultural narratives through short films, documentaries, and commercials. Born in Florida and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, his dual cultural background influences his storytelling.
Anderson holds a BA (1st Class Hons) in Media (Film) Production. His notable films include the internationally screened 'Diembe' (2016), 'Family Ties' (2022), and the Black River Film Festival award-winning 'The Book of Love' (2023). His 2023 film '7x7x7' (Pitch Film Fund Finalist) and upcoming 'Dante's Inferno' (television series proof of concept) further showcase his versatility. He is actively developing 'The Motherland,' a feature film about the 1919 Liverpool race riots.
