Erin Anderson is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Pittsburgh's Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences, where she also serves as affiliated faculty in the Film and Media Studies Program. She teaches narrative audio production and multimedia nonfiction for undergraduate Writing majors and MFA students.
Anderson earned her PhD in Critical and Cultural Studies from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014.
Her research focuses on the intersection of audio storytelling, digital media, and narrative form. Anderson explores how sound, technology, and personal narrative converge to create compelling documentary and fictional works. She investigates the ethical dimensions of storytelling, particularly in relation to voice, memory, and trauma.
