Anashua Rani Ghose Elwy is the Warren Alpert Foundation Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior and Professor of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Brown University. She is the Founding Director of the Brown Research on Implementation and Dissemination to Guide Evidence Use (BRIDGE) Program. Her research focuses on implementation science, clinician-patient communication, complementary medicine, and mental health service delivery. Dr. Elwy holds a PhD from King's College (2001), MSc from the London School of Economics (1995), and AB from the University of Michigan (1991).
Her work examines healthcare communication practices, vaccine acceptance strategies, and crisis communication in healthcare systems. She leads initiatives such as the VA Disclosure Support Program and the Rhode Island Asthma Integrated Response (RI-AIR) program. Notable awards include the 2024 Presidential Leadership Scholar distinction and the VA Research Career Scientist Award (2023-2028).
Dr. Elwy's research spans over 150 publications, emphasizing implementation strategies for behavioral health interventions, telehealth applications, and health equity. She collaborates with institutions like the National Academy of Medicine and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Current projects include evaluating mHealth suicide prevention apps and scaling evidence-based childhood obesity programs.
