She holds a PhD from Auburn University (2008), an MS from Auburn (2004), and a BA from the University of Washington (2001, Summa Cum Laude).
- Research Emphasis: PTSD, alcohol use disorders, psychiatric genetics, and stress reactivity.
- Awards: Includes VCU School of Medicine Distinguished Mentor Award (2020), VIPBG Outstanding Mentor Award (2016, 2020), and the Chaim and Bela Danieli Young Professional Award (2010).
Her translational work aims to identify modifiable environmental and genetic factors influencing post-trauma outcomes, with a focus on culturally sensitive interventions.
