Ana Cristina Torres is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research and Intervention in Education (CIIE) within the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at the University of Porto. She holds a PhD in Didactics and Training (2012, University of Aveiro) and a bachelor's degree in Biology and Geology Teaching (2003, University of Porto). Her work focuses on sustainability education, curriculum innovation, and teacher professional development.
Research Interests: Sustainability; Environmental Education; Curriculum Studies; Student Voice; Teacher Training; STEM Education; Climate Change Adaptation.
Current Projects: Co-PI of ClimActiC (Climate Change Adaptation), Co-PI of WAY (Peer Observation for Self-Regulated Learning), and collaborator in COSI.ed (Social Inclusion).
Teaching: Courses on Environmental Education, Pedagogy, and Science Teaching across BA/MA programs.
Advising: Supervises a PhD candidate in Environmental Education and two MA students.
Grants: Over 20 funded projects since 2013, including EU Horizon 2020, FCT, and Erasmus+.
Labs/Teams: Member of CIIE's IDEAFor research group and co-lead of the 'Pedagogical Management and Democratic Participation' strategic area.
