Ana Caetano is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Research Methods at ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, within the School of Sociology and Public Policy. She is an integrated researcher at CIES-Iscte (Center for Research and Studies in Sociology), affiliated with the Gender, Life Course and Health research group. Her work focuses on biographical crises, individual reflexivity, and structure-agency dynamics, employing qualitative methodologies.

Research Interests: Her research explores biographical disruptions, self-reflection in life paths, and the interplay between societal structures and individual agency. Recent projects include studying linked family lives, biographical triangulation methods, and self-help narratives addressing crises. She has coordinated projects funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
