Ana Antonic-Baker is a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Neuroscience, Monash University, focusing on stem cell biology, neuroscience, and epilepsy research. She holds past positions including Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne (2016–2018), Research Officer at the Florey Institute (2013–2015), and earlier roles at Genesis Research & Development and the Liggins Institute. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
Her research expertise includes developing in vitro disease models for neurological disorders (e.g., stroke), systematic reviews of human and animal studies, and multidisciplinary approaches to epilepsy mechanisms. She leads and collaborates on projects such as drug-resistant epilepsy treatments and Homer1 gene mutation studies. She is an editorial board member for Systematic Reviews and BMJ Open Science, and actively participates in conferences on systematic reviews and epilepsy.
Key awards include the 2022 Dept Collaborative Seed Grant and recognition as an ASSCR delegate at Science & Technology Australia’s 2025 Science Meets Parliament event. Her work emphasizes evidence integration, precision medicine, and translational neuroscience.
