Amy Richards is a Senior Lecturer at Leeds Law School, part of Leeds Beckett University, since 2021. She holds a qualifying law degree from the University of York (2011), a PCGE from the University of Huddersfield, and a Master’s in Law. Previously, she practiced immigration law with a firm ranked by The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners before returning to academia.
Her teaching spans undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Contract Law, Criminal Law, Media & Entertainment Law, Client Care Skills, and Dissertation Research. Research focuses on domestic violence and abuse (DVA), particularly the criminal justice response to violence against women and girls, including intersections with immigration status and the concept of 'justice' for victims amid high attrition rates.
