Amy Mulligan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Irish Language and Literature at the University of Notre Dame. Her research focuses on medieval British, Irish, and Scandinavian cultures, with an emphasis on cultural exchange and literary analysis. She holds a M.Phil and D.Phil from the University of Oxford. Her work has been recognized through awards such as the Donald Murphy Prize and a National Endowment for the Humanities grant.
Her book A Landscape of Words (2019) explores the poetics of space in medieval literature and won the Donald Murphy Prize. She has held fellowships at institutions including the University of Oxford and the Centre for Viking and Medieval Studies (Oslo). Current research includes a book project on the Irish American experience in Chicago and its medieval roots.
