Amy Monticello is an Associate Professor and Chair of the English Department at Suffolk University. She holds an MFA from The Ohio State University and a BA from Ithaca College. Her research focuses on creative nonfiction forms, narrative theory, and intersections between narrative and medicine. Monticello’s work explores themes of mortality, family dynamics, and ethical storytelling through innovative nonfiction techniques.
Her notable publications include the book How to Euthanize a Horse (2018) and the 2013 S.I. Newhouse Prize-winning essay Communing with Cancer.
