Her research centers on fostering grit and character virtues like optimism, self-control, and hope. She developed a three-year curriculum to teach these traits and continues exploring the role of passion in grit. Her work bridges practical classroom experience with academic theory.
Amy's publications highlight her focus on grit education and character development. Her presentations, including the Colby-Sawyer College Academic Address (2015) and NPEN Conference keynote (2016), emphasize resilience-building strategies for educators. Her 2016-17 workshops on 'Grit 1.o. 2.o, and 3.0' demonstrate iterative refinement of these concepts.
