Amy Killen is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Design at Monash University, coordinating the interdisciplinary DGN1000 program. Her work bridges design innovation with public health and urban infrastructure challenges, supported by collaborations with organizations like WHO, Monash Health, and Metro Trains Melbourne. She holds a PhD in 'Designing the Urban Rail Environment to Reduce Vandalism' (2020).
Research focuses on co-design methodologies for global health guidelines, sustainable urban mobility, and additive manufacturing applications. Notable projects include developing a Design Toolkit for WHO guideline developers and pioneering anti-vandalism interventions in rail environments.
Awards include the Research Rising Star Award (2020), International Design Silver Award (2021), and James Dyson Award (2016). Current initiatives involve launching Monash's Collaborative Design degree and advancing interdisciplinary design practices aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
