Amy Harris is a Tutor and PhD researcher at De Montfort University's Leicester Media School, affiliated with the Cinema and Television History Institute (CATHi). She specializes in contemporary British horror, feminist media studies, and British cultural history, with a focus on gender, class, and race intersections.

Her research explores gendered representations in British horror, feminist reinterpretations of the monstrous-feminine, and intersections of class and race in genre cinema. She also contributes to archival work and festival programming, such as Cine Excess and Leicester Horror Con.
Amy’s work spans journal articles, book chapters, and book reviews, with publications in Folk Horror on Film and Bloody Women: Women Directors of Horror. Her recent outputs examine British folk horror, women directors, and feminist critiques of horror archetypes.

Amy co-supervises undergraduate dissertations and contributes to film festival programming. She previously co-convened the BAFTSS LGBTQIA+ Special Interest Group and served as Event Coordinator for the British Silent Film Festival. Her extracurricular activities include editorial assistance at Critical Studies in Television Journal and archival internships.
