Amy Dereczyk

Amy Dereczyk is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Physician Assistant program at University of Detroit Mercy. She holds a Ph.D. from Wayne State University, an M.S. from University of Detroit Mercy, and a B.S. from Wayne State University. Her clinical background is in emergency medicine.

Her research focuses on point of care ultrasound in PA programs and interprofessional education. She has seven peer-reviewed publications in these areas. Professor Dereczyk has conducted extensive work in rural Nigeria through clinic partnerships supported by grants from the Physician Assistant Foundation.

Her work emphasizes serving underserved populations both locally and internationally. She has made multiple trips to Africa to support healthcare initiatives.
