Marlene Shaw-Gallagher

Marlene Shaw-Gallagher is an Associate Professor in the Physician Assistant Program at University of Detroit Mercy's College of Health Professions & MSON. She serves as Lead Clinical Coordinator and teaches Diagnostic and Therapeutic Procedures courses. A Detroit Mercy PA program alumna, her clinical background includes internal medicine and interventional radiology, with 10+ years specializing in nephrology.

Research Focus:
Her work addresses kidney disease prevention in diabetic populations through implementation science, supported by a National Kidney Foundation grant. She chairs the NKF's national spring clinical meetings.

Education:
Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Health Infrastructures & Learning Systems at University of Michigan. Holds an M.S. in Physician Assistant Studies (Detroit Mercy) and B.S. in Biology-Zoology/Anthropology (University of Michigan).
