Amy Connery is an Assistant Professor in Speech and Language Pathology within the Department of Clinical Speech and Language Studies at Trinity College Dublin, School of Medicine. She brings over a decade of clinical experience from paediatric primary care and disability settings into her academic work, bridging clinical practice with research and teaching.
Her research focuses on developing effective stuttering interventions for children and adults, promoting Public and Patient Involvement (PPI), engaging in multi-stakeholder co-design of health interventions, and advancing evidence-based practice in speech and language therapy. She is committed to inclusive education and enhancing participation across diverse groups within the university community.
Amy’s teaching expertise lies in developmental speech sound disorders, stuttering, and developmental language disorders. She actively supervises fourth-year undergraduate research projects and has initiated a stuttering support group for students at Trinity College in partnership with the Trinity Disability Service, reflecting her dedication to student well-being and inclusion.
