Dr. Amudha Kadirvelu is a Professor at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. She serves as Deputy Head of Medical School (Education) and has over 17 years of teaching experience. Her academic career includes pivotal roles in securing accreditation for the Monash Malaysia MBBS program. She holds a PhD in Clinical Physiology and Pharmacology of Vascular Function from the University of Malaya and an MBBS from India.
Her research focuses on cardiovascular pharmacology, medical education innovations, and ethnic variations in drug responses. Notable projects include studies on diabetes interventions, bioactive materials for orthopedic implants, and spinal biomechanics. She has secured grants from agencies like Solvay Pharma Malaysia and the Malaysian Ministry of Health.
Dr. Kadirvelu’s awards include the Vice Chancellor’s Teaching Excellence Award, Dean’s Award for Education, and multiple PVC Innovation Awards. Her work emphasizes pragmatic pedagogy integrating clinical theory with real-world practice.
Her recent publications span seizure detection technologies, family resilience in indigenous communities, and statin efficacy in HIV patients. She actively contributes to interprofessional education and has pioneered experiential learning modules in geriatric care.
