Dr. Vidya Kushare is a Senior Lecturer (Practice) at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Malaya, where she teaches anatomy across MBBS, Dental, and Biomedical Sciences programs. She is also a registered medical practitioner, clinically active in a private clinic, and deeply involved in curriculum design, quality management, and academic leadership.
Her educational background includes:
- MBBS from KMC, Hubli, India
- MD in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from MMC, Mysore, India
- MRCOG Part 1 from the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, London
Dr. Kushare’s research focuses on innovation in medical education, particularly in anatomy and clinical skills. She leads a University of Malaya-funded project using 3D-printed anatomical models and is co-researching AI-assisted case co-creation and virtual patient platforms. Her work emphasizes student engagement, peer learning, and digital transformation in clinical training.
Her recent publications reflect a strong trend in integrating technology into medical education, exploring blended learning, peer feedback systems, and virtual clinical assessments. These efforts aim to modernize medical pedagogy and enhance student outcomes through innovative, evidence-based methods.

Dr. Kushare has served as an academic advisor, PBL facilitator, MBBS admission panelist, and external examiner for Monash University Malaysia. She has presented at APMEC, MMMEC, and AMEE workshops, and is a member of MAEMHS, Malaysia Anatomy Association, and the Malaysian Society for Simulation in Healthcare. She has also organized the Monash Medicine Education Conference 2023.
She is actively involved in research projects funded by the University of Malaya, focusing on educational technology and anatomy learning. Her leadership roles include Department Quality Manager and Biomedical Sciences Coordinator, demonstrating strong institutional engagement and academic governance.
