Amrita Dhar is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Mary Washington (UMW). Her research focuses on public economics, education finance, and emerging markets economics, with a particular emphasis on fiscal policy, K-12 funding, and economic inequality. She actively engages in undergraduate research mentorship and has presented at conferences including the Southern Economic Association and the National Association of Economic Educators.

- Policy analysis in fiscal federalism
Conference Participation: Attended the National Association of Economic Educators (NAEE) Spring Conference 2025 and the 93rd Southern Economic Association Conference. She has mentored students at the Federal Reserve Bank conferences in Dallas (2023) and Philadelphia (2025).
Advising: Advises undergraduate students in economics, including Jarad Ponce, Peter Lermo, and others who presented research at national conferences.
