Julián P. Díaz is an Associate Professor of Economics and Executive Director of the George Kaufman Center for Financial Policy Studies at the Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago. He is actively engaged in research, teaching, and academic leadership.

His research focuses on international trade, international macroeconomics, and Latin American economics, with an emphasis on trade agreements, dollarization, wage inequality, and fiscal-monetary policy history. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in macroeconomics and international economics.
His recent publications span topics such as the impact of dollarization on trade, the effects of free trade agreements on trade margins, and the drivers of skill premium divergence. These works employ rigorous empirical methods and contribute to policy-relevant debates in global and regional economic integration.
