Amit Tandon

Dr. Amit Tandon is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, with affiliations in the School of Marine Science and Technology and collaborations at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. He also collaborates with the Geophysical Flows Lab at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Education: Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (1987), followed by Masters (1990) and Ph.D. (1992) in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.

Research focuses on physical oceanography, studying upper ocean mixing processes driven by eddies and fronts, and their implications for global climate.
