Daniel Rudnick

Daniel Rudnick is a Professor of Physical Oceanography at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. His research investigates upper ocean dynamics, fronts, eddies, and air-sea interactions using autonomous platforms like underwater gliders.

Research focuses on physical and biological dynamics of the upper ocean, coastal oceanography, ocean circulation patterns, and development of ocean observation technologies. Current projects include studies of the California Current System using glider networks.

Leads development of ocean observing systems including the California Underwater Glider Network. Research contributes to understanding climate impacts on marine ecosystems.
