Amir B. Behnam

Amir B. Behnam, MD, is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Plastic Surgery at Reading Hospital – Tower Health. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, his clinical and academic affiliations span institutions including Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Harvard University.

• MD from The Mount Sinai School of Medicine (1998)
• BA in Social Anthropology from Harvard University (1993)

Dr. Behnam specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery, with expertise in hand surgery, vulvoplasty, trauma management, and advanced wound care techniques. His research extends to reconstructive oncologic surgery and innovative wound therapies.

Recent publications highlight trends in negative pressure wound therapy, dressing efficacy for skin grafts, and trauma outcomes in elderly populations, reflecting his focus on clinical applications and surgical innovation.
