Dr. Amie Woodward is a University Research Fellow at York St John University's School of Science, Technology and Health, affiliated with the Institute for Health and Care Improvement. She holds a BSc in Sports Coaching and Performance (2012, University of Hull), an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science (2016, University of Hull), and a PhD in Exercise Physiology (2021, University of York). Her research focuses on the role of physical activity in preventing cardiovascular disease, particularly lipid metabolism's role in atherosclerosis. She has conducted clinical trials and systematic reviews, including studies on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), post-viral fatigue (long Covid), and artificial eye design. Teaching areas include exercise physiology and research methods. Dr. Woodward serves on the Health Research Authority's NHS Research Ethics Committee and peer-reviews for journals like Obesity Reviews.
