Amedeo Chiribiri is a Senior Lecturer in Cardiovascular Imaging at King’s College London and an Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust Foundation. He holds a Medical Degree from the University of Turin (2001) and a Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine and Human Physiology (2011). His research focuses on advanced cardiac MRI techniques, particularly myocardial perfusion quantification and non-invasive ischemia detection, with an emphasis on clinical translation. He leads the non-congenital cardiac MRI service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust. Key roles include:
- Senior Lecturer in Cardiovascular Imaging, King’s College London
- Honorary Consultant Cardiologist, NHS Trust Foundation
- Clinical Lead for Cardiac MRI services
Research interests span coronary circulation pathophysiology, myocardial ischemia, and imaging innovation. He has contributed to over 340 publications and leads major grants from the EPSRC, BHF, and NIHR. Current projects include:
- Statistical Motion Atlases for Heart Function Analysis (EPSRC-funded)
- Microvascular Dysfunction in Heart Failure (BHF-funded)
- REvascularisation Trial for Ischemic Cardiomyopathy (NIHR-funded)
His work aligns with UN SDGs for health and well-being (SDG 3), leveraging cardiac MRI to improve diagnostics and patient outcomes.
