Amber Salter

Dr. Amber Salter is Associate Professor of Biostatistics at UT Southwestern Medical Center with joint appointments in Population and Data Sciences and the Peter O'Donnell Jr. Brain Institute. Her research specializes in the design and analysis of clinical trials and epidemiological studies in multiple sclerosis.

Methodological focus areas:

• Disease registry analytics (NARCOMS Registry)
• Clinical trial design optimization
• Patient-reported outcome validation
• Comorbidity impact assessment
• Statistical methods for complex databases

She maintains leadership roles in multiple sclerosis research consortia and has developed novel statistical approaches for analyzing longitudinal patient-reported outcomes. Recent work examines COVID-19 impacts on MS progression and virtual cognitive rehabilitation efficacy.

Dr. Salter teaches biostatistics and mentors trainees in clinical research methodology through the Salter Lab.
