Dr. Daniel Heitjan is a Professor and Chair of Statistical Science at SMU, Professor of Biostatistics at the O’Donnell School of Public Health (UT Southwestern), and Director of the SMU/UTSW collaborative doctoral program in Biostatistics. He holds a BSc (1981), MSc (1984), and PhD (1985) in Statistics from the University of Chicago. Previously, he served on faculties at UCLA, Penn State, Columbia, and the University of Pennsylvania before moving to Texas in 2014.
His research focuses on clinical trial design, causal inference, methods for incomplete data, and applications in health economics, pharmacogenomics, and smoking cessation.
