Amandeep Sra

Amandeep Sra is a Professor of Instruction in Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), affiliated with the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from Bhabha Atomic Research Center (2001) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Chemistry at Texas A&M University (2003). His research focuses on materials science, nanotechnology, and energy storage systems, with notable contributions to lithium-ion battery interfaces, nanocrystal synthesis, and magnetic nanoparticles for biomedical applications.

He has received prestigious teaching awards including the 2019 Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award (UT System), 2018 Presidents Teaching Excellence Award, and the 2018 Centennial Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching from Iota Sigma Pi. His work bridges fundamental materials research with practical applications in energy and health technologies.
