Amanda Tink

Dr Amanda Tink is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at UniSA Creative, University of South Australia, and Adjunct Research Fellow at Western Sydney University's Writing and Society Research Centre. Her work focuses on disability studies in Australian literature, crip poetics, and the Nazi genocide of disabled people. She holds a PhD in Humanities and Communication Arts (2023) and a Master of Research (2017), both from Western Sydney University.

Tink's research explores intersections between disability, literature, and historical trauma. She investigates how neurodivergence and disability shape creative practices, exemplified in her thesis on Les Murray's autism and poetry. Her current work includes the Australian Research Council project Finding Australia's Disabled Authors: Connection, Creativity, Community, alongside funded research on blind neurodivergent writers.

Her publications analyze disability narratives in poetry and memoir, with a focus on Les Murray's legacy and the Nazi persecution of disabled individuals. She co-edited a special issue of Australian Literary Studies on disability writing and contributes to debates on education accessibility.

Tink has received funding from Creative Australia for research on blind neurodivergent writers and collaborates with institutions to document historical injustices. She advocates for representation in literary discourse and participates in media outreach, speaking engagements, and research supervision.
