Amanda Shiach

Amanda Shiach is a Research Assistant and Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Coordinator at the Research & Action on Salt & Obesity Research Unit within the Centre for Public Health & Policy at Queen Mary University of London’s Wolfson Institute of Population Health. She holds a BEd in Biology and Education and an MSc in Food Policy.

Her career combines teaching Science and Food & Nutrition to school students with research expertise in food policy, nutrition, and project management. Key research interests include food literacy, nutritional profiles, food system sustainability, and addressing health inequities through policy interventions.

Her work focuses on upstream food system changes to improve health outcomes, leveraging collaborations with charities and policy stakeholders. She actively engages in public health advocacy and project coordination to advance evidence-based practices in school food nutrition and food policy.

Amanda’s contributions bridge educational outreach, research, and policy implementation, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to systemic food-related challenges.
