Amanda Faber

Amanda Faber is a PhD Researcher at York St John University's School of the Arts. Her research explores the efficacy of long-term engagement with theatre among military personnel as a pathway to narrative change and recovery from trauma. She collaborates with serving and former military personnel, supervised by Professors Matthew Reason and Divine Charura.

Her work bridges performance arts and therapeutic practice, focusing on co-produced creative outcomes and their impact on transition experiences. Amanda founded the Soldiers’ Arts Academy, which pioneers applied therapeutic theatre models for the Armed Forces Community. Her interdisciplinary background spans theatre, film, dance, and television, informing her research on narrative transformation through artistic engagement.
