Amanda Spooner serves as Associate Professor of Theatre Production and Management at Ithaca College's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. A professional AEA Stage Manager, she brings extensive industry experience from Broadway, off-Broadway, regional theatres, tours, opera, dance, immersive experiences, and television to her academic role.
Her educational background includes:
- MFA from Yale School of Drama
- BA from San Francisco State University
- AA from Las Positas College
Professor Spooner specializes in new works development and world premieres, having stage-managed productions like Rebecca Taichman and Paula Vogel's Indecent and the musical Sing Street. Her research focuses on economic equality in professional theatre, advocacy for families in the arts, and increasing visibility for stage managers through rigorous industry engagement and discourse.
